Light Beam Photoshop Tutorial by haruhis2kyon Light Beam Photoshop Tutorial by haruhis2kyon
Hey. ^^

A tutorial for creating Light Beams on Photoshop!

Note: This tutorial is only showing how to create simple Light Beams, and is recommended for beginners.

Extra note: The final outcome can look so much better, just that I rush through things and didn't smudge much. Remember to take your time! ^^

sorry for the late comment! i've made this tutorial ages ago and can't remember the specifics, but have you tried rasterizing the layer that you wanted to smudge?

feel free to ask anything else that you're unsure of. i will do my best to help lol

Maybe, but then again, I'm not entirely familiar with Coral. Sorry!

However, If the program you're using has a decent blurring and smudging tool, then I guess it could work. Experiment and good luck! :)

Extremely helpful, I love it; I used the Line Tool instead of creating a shape and it still came out great. :D

I used it for a beam of light on my Bomberman signature (which should be on my profile sometime soon). xP

Lol thanks! I know this is an extremely late comment considering that I'm like a ghost on DA, but I do appreciate the comment. I will be checking out your Bomberman signature now (if that was ever completed).

I just wish that I did a better job on the beam in the example, but I guess I was trying to rush things as usual back then. Oh well, thanks again! =)

Heh, sorry. I don't read comments often, but yeah, there are a few flaws in this tutorial, but I'll try to fix them up later when I've the time.

You can also use the line tool and thicken/thin it to whatever width you want.
Once you've done that, you can follow the tutorial (which I find very impressive) and come out with a very impressive light beam effect very similar to the tutorial's final render.
